How to generate an unlimited supply of local prospects using Sizzle Cards
"Sizzle Cards" are simply business cards printed with a short interest generating headline and your website address or phone number.
They are also one of the most effective and duplicable cold market methods for building your business and getting a new rep started right away.
To date, the most effective drop card we have found are also the simplest. The cards below can draw continuous leads to your site or voicemail number.

You should have a minimum of 1000 cards printed similar to the ones above. Extensive testing has shown that the most effective cards are on yellow stock with raised letter printing of red headlines and contact info, with the subheading (if any) printed in blue.Try to resist the temptation to add additional information to your card. The reason these cards work well is that it builds curiosity in the prospect.
Here are some suggestions on getting your cards out:
* Place one of your cards in every piece of mail that leaves your house. This includes all payments, bills, letters, orders, christmas cards, etc.
* When you receive junk mail, put one of your cards in the postage paid return envelope and drop it in the mail. Someone has to open it on the other end. If you don't put anything else in the envelope with it you will also build more curiosity.
* Always carry cards with you and leave them wherever people would be standing such as check-out counters, gas pumps, waiting rooms and elevators.
* It's been shown that telephone booths are not the best but can get some results.
* You can also leave your cards on cars parked in parking lots. If you do this, do not leave your card under on the windshield or under the wipers, doing so creates frustration in people when they have to get back out of the car to remove your card. Instead, leave your card just above the door handle of the drivers door stuck in the window seal. This way it is likely that they will pick up your card as they get into their car and will hold on to it.
* And last but not least, whenever possible ask people if they have access to the internet. If they say yes then ask them to check out your website and give them a card. If they have any questions just tell them to go have a look.
Using drop cards is definitely one of the areas where it is truly a numbers game....typical response is about 1% upwards to 3 or 4% when done in the right way.
So what IS the right way?
Use the proven cards. If you are going to test your own creativity then at least be systematic about it and track responses. Try 3 different variations (and *any* change no matter how subtle should be tested) with at least 500 of each and shuffle the cards together...make a day of it, and get them all out, then be sure to TRACK THE RESPONSES.
This means asking the prospect which card they picked up, and recording the results.
Every time, you will find that there is one card which will out pull the others in your area....this is the card that you should then continue to work with. You can continue this testing and tweaking process indefinitely, but once you find something that works.....WORK IT.
Think in terms of leveraging your energy...with regards to drop cards, what does this mean? Well what do you think is more effective:
A) Placing a card on a car windshield where one person will see it.
B) Placing a couple of cards on the table at the DMV where 50 people might see it, and it stays there until someone finally picks it up and takes it home with them.
Both take about the same time, but one reaches far more people.
*THE VERY BEST WAY TO GET THE CARDS OUT BY FAR!*
....is to hand them to people personally. Yes, I know that is a bit more uncomfortable then dropping them around town but the fact that the person who receives the card gets to see the HUMAN BEING behind it goes a very long way. And I promise you that a smile will add more to your response rate than any headline ever will.
Try going to a *very* busy store or place where hundreds of people pass by and just hand ''em out one by one....with a WINNING ATTITUDE. I can guarantee that getting out of your comfort zone in this one way can pay off more quickly than all of the above put together. **Special Note**
If you have any one to work with locally, go out together. It can make the whole process a lot more fun and supportive, especially doing the personal hand out method. Just having another rep with you can ease almost all of the fear of approaching people personally.
Remember going out 2 by 2 is a *PROVEN* technique that built the largest downline that has ever existed :-)
